Х'i ZH.R$0.sRs:(VERSION FRANAISE CI-DESSOUS) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CIS Mitsubishi athletes of the week Lethbridges Patzer, Dalhousies Ur honoured Nov. 5, 2008 OTTAWA (CIS) Lethbridge rugby player Ashley Patzer and Dalhousie soccer player Ben Ur are the Canadian Interuniversity Sport Mitsubishi female and male athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 2, 2008. Patzer, a fourth-year science student from Lethbridge, Alta., was named tournament MVP at the 2008 CIS championship after she led the host Pronghorns to their second straight Monilex Trophy title. The Canadian national team member and former CIS player of the year led the tournament with six tries and 34 points, including a pair of tries in a come-from-behind, 29-15 win over StFX in the gold-medal final. She was named Lethbridge player of the game in both the semi-final and final. Cape Breton soccer player Kristina Weatherbie, Montreal soccer player Marylise Monchalin and Laurentian basketball player Darrah Bumstead were also nominated for the womens award. Ur, a second-year arts student from Halifax, was named tournament MVP at the AUS championship after he guided the Tigers to their first conference title since 1999. The second-team AUS all-star allowed only one goal in three games and posted a pair of shutouts, including a 1-0 blanking of first-place and tourney favourite UNB in the title match. Dalhousie advances to the CIS championship for the first time in nine years and will face Montreal in Thursdays quarter-final round. Montreal soccer player Grardo Argento, Toronto hockey player Joe Rand and Brandon volleyball player Paul Sanderson were the other male nominees. Membre de lquipe nationale et ex-joueuse de lanne de SIC, Patzer a domin le tournoi avec six essais et 34 points, incluant deux essais lors dun gain de 29-15 aux dpens de StFX en finale.
