Barnes, a fourth-year arts & science student from Toronto recorded her fourth and fifth shutouts of the season over the weekend as the Varsity Blues blanked Ryerson 5-0 and Carleton 1-0 improved to 5-1-2 on the campaign, good for second place in the OUA East behind No. 1 Ottawa Gee-Gees (7-0-0). The third-year keeper has allowed only two goals all season, both to the top-ranked Gee-Gees. StFX rugby player Ghislaine Landry, Montreal volleyball player Laetitia Tchoualack and Trinity Western soccer player Veronika Rogina were also nominated for the weekly honour. Osei, a fifth-year student also from Toronto claims the honour on the mens side after tallying three goals and one assists in two outings to lead the No. 6-ranked Capers (4-0-1) to a pair of road victories. The five-foot-10, 20-year-old striker, a second-team all-Canadian in 2006, scored the game-tying goal and assisted on the game-winner in a 3-2 victory over Acadia on Friday, and then potted a pair as CBU defeated Dalhousie 3-1 on Saturday. Soccer players Boris Salou of Laval, Andrew Piccinetti of Laurentian and Peter Richmond of Victoria were the other nominees on the mens side. Barnes, une tudiante de quatrime anne en arts et sciences originaire de Toronto, a rcolt ses quatrime et cinquime jeux blancs de la saison ce week-end alors que le Varsity Blues a dfait Ryerson 5-0 et Carleton 1-0 pour porter son dossier 5-1-2, ce qui lui vaut le deuxime rang au sein de la division Est de la confrence ontarienne derrire les Gee-Gees dOttawa, classes premires au pays. La gardienne de troisime campagne na allou que deux buts depuis le dbut du calendrier, les deux face aux Gee-Gees. La joueuse de rugby Ghislaine Landry, de StFX, la volleyeuse Laetitia Tchoualack, de Montral, et la joueuse de soccer Veronika Rogina, de Trinity Western, taient galement en lice du ct fminin. Osei, un tudiant de cinquime anne galement originaire de Toronto, mrite lhonneur chez les hommes grce une rcolte de trois buts et une aide qui a permis aux Capers (4-0-1), classs siximes au Top 10 de SIC, de mriter deux victoires ltranger. Lattaquant g de 20 ans, membre de la deuxime quipe dtoiles canadiennes en 2006, a marqu le filet galisateur et a amass une aide sur le but vainqueur vendredi dans un gain de 3-2 sur Acadia, puis a ajout un doubl samedi alors que Cap-Breton a dispos de Dalhousie par 3-1.
