Colpitts, an arts student from Winnipeg scored three of her teams four goals over the weekend to lead the Bisons to a pair of wins, including a 2-0 shutout of nationally-ranked Trinity Western, and propel Manitoba (3-1-0) to eighth place in the CIS Top 10. The 22-year-old forward, who is tied for the Canada West lead with four goals, tallied the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over UCFV on Friday and had both Bison markers on Saturday against TWU, ranked fourth in the Top 10 prior to the match. Dalhousie soccer player Kate MacDonald, Laval soccer player Virginie Jacques and Western Ontario rugby player Tanja Ness were also nominated for the weekly honour. Kekec, a fourth-year business student from Burnaby, B.C. claims the honour on the mens side for the second straight week. One week after tallying a hat-trick against reigning CIS champion Alberta, the five-foot-nine, 22-year-old forward scored three more goals and added an assist Saturday in a 5-3 victory over Victoria, ranked ninth in the nation at the time of the contest. Kekec, who leads Canada West with six markers and 13 points, also helped the No. 1 Spartans (4-0-0) blank UBC 1-0 on Sunday. UNB soccer player Alexander Devereaux, McGill cross country runner Sbastien Flynn and Brock soccer player Antonio Stranges were the other nominees on the mens side.
