McAllister, an MBA student from Cornwall, Ont. scored five times, including a hat-trick on Saturday, as the Varsity Reds kicked off the AUS season with a pair of dominating wins. The five-foot-10, fifth-year forward opened the campaign with a two-goal performance in a 5-0 shutout of Mount Allison on Friday, and scored three more times in a 4-1 victory over Moncton the next day. Concordia rugby player Jennifer Rosenbaum, Brock soccer goalkeeper Tiffany Scriver and Trinity Western soccer player Carlee OBrien were also nominated for the weekly honour. Kekec, a fourth-year business student from Burnaby, B.C. scored a natural hat-trick against reigning CIS champion Alberta to help the Spartans get off to a 2-0-0 start to the season and propel TWU to the top of the CIS mens soccer rankings for the first time in team history. The five-foot-nine, 22-year-old forward struck in the 18th, 43rd and 45th minute as the Spartans blanked the Golden Bears 4-0 on Saturday, avenging a 1-0 loss to Alberta in last years CIS championship final. Soccer players Matthew Wilkins of Cape Breton, Boris Salou of Laval and Roger Teves of Laurentian were the other nominees on the mens side.
