Morra, a second-year sociology student from Scarborough, Ont., tallied back-to-back hat tricks, including both game winners, as the 2007 CIS finalist Lions kicked off the regular season with a pair of dominating wins and reached the top of the CIS womens soccer rankings for the first time in team history. The sophomore forward, who was named CIS rookie of the year in 2007 after she led the nation with 19 goals in 14 conference games, netted all of Yorks goals Saturday in a 3-1 victory over Guelph and scored three more times Sunday in a 5-0 shutout of Waterloo. StFX rugby player Courtnay Malcolm, Montreal soccer player Vronique Maranda and Regina soccer player Michelle Anderson were also nominated for the womens award. DAngelo, a fifth-year arts student from Ottawa, scored five times in three outings to lead the No. 4-ranked Ravens to a perfect 3-0-0 start against a trio of OUA East opponents. The senior striker, a former all-Canadian at Saint Marys in his first campaign with the Ravens, netted both Carleton goals in a 2-0, season-opening shutout of Trent, added a pair in a 4-2 win over RMC and rounded out the weekend with his fifth tally and an assist on the game-winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Queens. Saint Marys soccer player Jonathan McNeil and Trinity Western soccer player Patrick Kelly were the other male nominees. Morra, une tudiante de deuxime anne en sociologie originaire de Scarborough, Ont., a rcolt des tours du chapeau conscutifs, incluant deux buts gagnants, alors que les Lions, finalistes de SIC en 2007, entamaient la saison rgulire avec deux victoires convaincantes et atteignaient le sommet du Top 10 du soccer fminin de SIC pour la premire fois de leur histoire. La rapide attaquante, nomme recrue de lanne de SIC en 2007 aprs quelle eut termin premire au pays avec 19 filets en 14 rencontres, a inscrit les trois buts de York samedi dans un gain de 3-1 sur Guelph, puis a ajout trois russites dimanche au cours dun blanchissage de 5-0 aux dpens de Waterloo.
