Hodgson, a fourth-year arts student from Fredericton scored a team-record 46 points last Friday in an 85-61 win over UNB, the highest single-game tally in the AUS since 1976 and the second best performance in conference history. The 21-year-old guard, who had started the week with a 13-point, six-rebound effort last Wednesday in a 66-64 victory over 10-4 StFX, also tied an AUS mark against UNB when she sank nine three-point shots. Hodgson currently leads the nation with a 24.4 point-per-game average and has her No. 9-ranked Capers (10-3) in first place in the AUS standings. Sherbrooke thrower Annie Larose and basketball players Amanda Anderson of Western Ontario and Kayla Dykstra of Victoria were also nominated for the womens award. Nkrumah, a third-year student from Brampton, Ont., recorded back-to-back double-doubles as the Capers (10-3) edged No. 5 StFX 90-86 and outscored UNB 91-62 to move up to No. 10 in the CIS national rankings. The 6-foot-4 guard, who leads the AUS in both rebounding (11.7 rebounds per game) and steals (3.38 spg), kicked off the week last Wednesday with a monstrous 39-point, 18-rebound effort against the 11-2 X-Men, and added 12 points and 15 boards against UNB on Friday. Sherbrooke sprinter Ben Youssef Mit and hockey players Craig Voakes of Wilfrid Laurier and Jeff Weber of Calgary were the other male nominees. Larrire ge de 21 ans, qui avait entam la semaine avec une rcolte de 13 points et six rebonds dans un gain de 66-64 sur StFX mercredi dernier, a aussi gal une marque de lAtlantique face UNB en russissant neuf tirs de trois points. Hodgson est prsentement la meilleure marqueuse au pays grce une moyenne de 24.4 points par rencontre et ses Capers (10-3), classes neuximes au Top 10 de SIC, occupent le sommet du classement de SUA.
